Great Knaresborough Bed Race

Lions Cam, Pete and VDGE Allan had a fantastic day yesterday representing Huddersfield Lions Club at The Great Knaresborough Bed Race. They spent the day selling programmes and raffle tickets to more than a thousand spectators.

The Great Knaresborough Bed Race, organised by the Knaresborough Lions Club, is an extraordinary spectacle. Ninety teams paraded through the town with brilliantly decorated beds and imaginative costumes, each one more inventive than the last. The atmosphere was electric as crowds lined the streets, cheering the teams on before the dramatic race itself, teams sprinting through the streets and dashing across the River Nidd.

It was an all-round awesome day: great community spirit, fantastic fundraising, and plenty of fun and colour. Cam, Pete and VDGE Allan’s efforts contributed to the event’s success and helped strengthen ties between local Lions clubs, showing once again how much we can achieve when we come together to support our communities.
