Free Prostate Cancer Screening

Our recent event offering free testing for prostate cancer was a great success. This was in the form of a blood test for men from 50 years old and 65 people came along on the day for the blood test. Three members from Keighley Lions joined the four of us for the event to help with the meet & greet and registration. We also had two members from the local Prostate support group who gave out information and chatted with the attendees.

Of the 65 people tested, 57 were in the green zone which was normal for their age, 5 in the red and 3 in the amber. The men in the red and amber zones will be advised to see their GPs for follow up tests which we hope will make a real difference to them and their families.

Due to the success of the event we hope to hold another one in the future.
